Trailer 2 Filming and Editing
I wanted my second trailer to be an interview with cutaways.
Filming the interview I used a white screen and three point lighting ( two softboxes and a ceiling light).
Filming the interview I used a white screen and three point lighting ( two softboxes and a ceiling light).
I used three point lighting and a white screen in order to create a professional looking interview room and to give weight to the premise of the show.
I shot the interview using different camera angles ( from the front and from the side ) but I always used a slightly lower angle to give the character a constant sense of power over the room reflecting his power within the show as the leader of the hunters.
I gave the character the name of David Horatio as it sounds both powerful and that he is from a high social class ( also reflected in his police ranking as Sergeant) as I wanted to represent someone from an upper class background. This is also reflected in the way he speaks using complex words such as "plethora" meaning to have an excessive amount of something.
After the interview I cut to black including the sound of the end recording being pressed. I did this because I felt it made a nice bookend to the interview as it was if he had said everything he needed to say and that nothing was cut. I then added a link to trailer 1 as I decided that they should be linked so that now we have context for the trailer which I filmed as if it was a cold open.
I wanted to splice up the interview with cutaways to what the Sgt. was referring to, for example showing the tracking vehicles as well as the informants. Unfortunately due to the Government isolation I was unable to film these cutaways. Luckily I had already filmed everything else so I was just missing two shots. I wanted to include at least one of these shots to make the trailer a bit more interesting so I used a free camera in a video game to film a shot similar to what I intended of shooting in real life.
For the soundtrack I used the 29th track from Mick Gordons' score to The New Colossus as the track changes from a mellow and quiet guitar riff before swelling to an electronic orchestra as we cut to the runner from the first episode mid escape.
I feel this trailer helps to advertise the show as we get a glimpse into the Lead Hunters mentality and shows us equipment and power that they have.
